Voices database

WCVA has contacted every group on its All-Wales Database to ask if they have an interest in voicing views on national or local policy; and if so to identify their area(s) of interest and to invite them to be included in the Voices database.

The Voices for Change Cymru project intends to offer training and advice to the groups included in the database, provide information on legislative and scrutiny developments relevant to their interests, and help them to get involved.

Groups on the Voices database will receive:

  • Details of training or awareness-raising events in their area

  • Updates on Assembly developments that relate to their specific interests, explaining how to engage and offering to help them respond

  • Details of their County Voluntary Council (CVC) who can help them engage with the local authority and other local bodies

The database will also be shared with CVCs, providing details of respondents in their area, so that CVCs can provide information about how to engage in local issues to groups who are not already involved.

The project also intends to promote the Voices database as a source of evidence to scrutiny committees, or support for representatives of service users and local communities in giving evidence to committees. The database will also provide opportunities to create coalitions of organisations with similar concerns who may want to lobby for change.
