Project Staff

The Voices for Change Cymru project funding allows for two project officers and an administrator. The staff currently in post are:

Michelle Matheron (project officer)

Michelle comes to the project from Age Concern Cymru where she was their Policy Officer. This role involved developing policy, lobbying and campaigning and working with both the Welsh Assembly Government and the National Assembly to promote older people’s issues. Her work at Age Concern Cymru allowed her to develop a keen interest in Politics and a desire to move on to work more closely with the Assembly and its new powers.

Michelle has also worked as a Family Support Worker and for Oxfam’s UK Poverty Programme. Her first experience of the voluntary sector was as a volunteer for Save the Children whilst at University. Michelle has a degree in English Literature and Cultural Criticism from Cardiff University.

Jen Bradbury (project officer)

Jen has spent over 20 years working either directly in or closely with voluntary sector organisations in a variety of capacities. These include working as a volunteer, recruiting and managing volunteers, managing and developing voluntary sector services, training in a range of subjects, establishing new groups, making funding bids and managing funding programmes, sitting as a management committee member (with a social and community enterprise organisation, a community foundation, a women’s welfare rights group, and a CVS) and working as a senior manager within a housing association.

This experience has been gained in a variety of job roles in the voluntary and public sector eg managing CAB services, welfare law trainer, Social Inclusion Manager, and Community Services Director.

Jen’s specific skills relevant to this project include developing and delivering training programmes, strategy and policy development, project management, experience and understanding of local government issues and processes, and first hand experience of dealing with the challenges and opportunities facing the third sector. She successfully completed an MBA in 2004.

Sarah Tamsin Ball (administrator)

Sarah joined the Voices for Change Cymru team in July 2010. She has always had a very keen interest in politics and current affairs and has previously been involved with fundraising events for several charitable organisations, this allowed her to develop an enthusiasm to work within the voluntary sector. Her administration experience prior to this role has been gained by working as a customer services administrator in a retail-based environment.

Sarah’s specific skills relevant to this project include web design and administration and she has a keen desire to improve her knowledge of local and national politics.
