Have your say on new legislation about Waste and Recycling

A National Assembly for Wales’ Legislation Committee is calling for evidence to help with their consideration of new legislation about Waste and Recycling. The deadline for responses is Friday 23 April 2010.

This is a measure (a Welsh law) to make provision to reduce the amount of waste and litter in Wales and contribute to the development of more effective waste management arrangements.

The 3 areas of consideration are:

  1. How the revenue raised by any charges for single-use carrier bags should be spent – should it be put towards environmental projects?
  2. Local Authority waste and re-cycling targets.
  3. Local Authority use of landfill sites.
